I first heard of Sikkil Gurucharan in 2006 when a friend of mine from USA sent me his experimental piece – Kulasegara Alwar’s Viruththam - accompanied on the piano by Anil Srinivasan. Listening to it was magical and so peaceful- specially with the accompaniment of the "Non-Carnatic" instrument, the piano - and his clear Tamil pronunciation. I loved it so much that I had to find out more about his achievements in the carnatic music scene. As the grandson, he has certainly done proud to the famous Sikkil Sisters!

I also enjoyed listening to another one of his performances, “Omana Thingal”, the Lullaby in Malayalam which was beautifully rendered.

Cannot help saying that I – along with my husband and my sons - was thrilled to meet you Charan, a few months ago, and I am going to hold you to your promise to visit us and sing for us when you next come to London. We are looking forward to meeting you and hearing you LIVE!

Congratulations and good luck with everything you do Charan. Keep up the good work!
